Get out of Your Comfort Zone

Why getting out of your Comfort Zone is so important…

In one of my earlier posts, I talked about my top ten realizations in starting a business. One of them, the last one in fact, was about travelling to the other side of Sara and reaching a state of higher consciousness where the miraculous happens. I talked about how going through the process of starting a business is affecting other parts of my life, my personal growth and my quest for enlightenment.

But, how does all of this growth actually begin?life-begins-at-the-end-of-your-comfort-zone

There’s  probably different reasons and ways that growth starts. Each person is unique and responds to things differently. But one of those ways in my opinion, is getting out of my comfort zone and as Eleanor Roosevelt said, doing one thing every day that scares me.

I started doing that recently in this journey that I have just begun. I try to do something that scares me every day. One day I walked by someone’s house that scares the crap out of me. I was always hesitant to do that because I was afraid that something bad would happen to me. Guess, what…nothing bad happened. I’m still here to talk about it. Will i have to do it again? Maybe yes if that comfort level and anxiety isn’t totally gone.

I also recently decided to go all out and start working on me, my brand for my business. Again, this was something that scared me and the thoughts of everything I would have to do were all way out of my comfort zone. Nevertheless, I bought the tools that would help me to set up some of the infrastructure that I needed for the business and began the process of learning how the tools worked and how to maximize their use in my business.  Guess what…nothing bad happened. In fact, this action took me to the next level of creating my own business. It is forcing me to continue on that path.

The funny part about getting out of my comfort zone is that once I do the thing that makes me anxious and scares me, I realize how not scary it really was. What seemed to me as an impossible thing to do, turned out to be, if not easy, at least easier than I thought it would be.

Yes, I experienced anxiety. But that anxiety helped push me to get the work done and improve my performance. Yes, I experienced anxiety. But becoming acclimated to that level of anxiety helps me to expand my comfort zone. Yes I experienced anxiety. But that anxiety is helping me grow, motivating me and helping me learn.

So, give it a chance.  Work on getting out of your comfort zone every day. I’m not suggesting doing  crazy things that will really put your life in danger, but start slowly. Take some small steps and deal with one thing that has kept you in a rut for the longest time. Make it a daily habit and let us know what happens.
