- You will definitely feel frustrated and overwhelmed more often than you will feel success and accomplishment.
- Your mindset will have to change, engage in a new way of thinking, and get out of your comfort zone.
- You will be bombarded with hypy offers, deals, “the best proven system ever” (shiny objects) and hundreds of promises and guarantees about these products by everyone that is trying to sell something.
- You’re going to hear that you should master one strategy, one system, and one method before learning others, but then you will hear from the very same person about this “other really great product”, “this other really good strategy”, “this other sure fired method or system you should buy”!
- You will have to spend money, more than what you ever thought you would have to spend when you first started.
- You will have to learn a new language, a new technology, and there will constantly be a learning curve.
- There will be people who will take advantage of you, scammers and spammers, but…there will also be people you will learn lots of great things from and some with whom you will become great friends.
- You will have to become persistent, consistent, and persevere constantly and continuously.
- You will probably fail because the data shows that more than 90% of people who enter this business do not make it.
- There will be many times that you will ask yourself what have I gotten into?
So why am I still at it?
- There is a big part of me (the bigger part of me) that really loves it.
- There is so much to learn and I love to learn.
- I want to be one of the ones that succeeds.
- There is a lot of potential in it.
- I think that when you do “get it” and start implementing strategies that you learn along the way, magical things can and do happen.
In this short amount of time, this Journey has already taken me to a higher awareness, not only in the business but in life.

Internet marketing is a hard industry, but it sure is fun and rewarding. I go by the 80/20 rule which means 80% of your efforts fail, and you earn all your money from the 20% that worked! You did a great job summing it up, and explaining why it is such a great industry regardless of the challenge.

Great article! Internet Marketing is definitely one of the many ways one can generate residual income and build a lifelong business. But one thing that most people don’t understand is that ITS NEVER A GET RICH QUICK SCHEME, most people join this industry with the expectation of acquiring massive wealth or a huge check deposit into their account overnight.. Which should never be the case, once you begin developing this kind of mind-set, you’re better off remain broker for the rest of your life rather than broke and stressed. Your mind-set is key to your success or failure. Get it right from the start and you’ve done half of the job required. The rest is to learn what’s working and what’s not. Build relationships and give value to people rather than treating them like ATM machines.
